IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State's Brian Holiday was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week and Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for his performance on the final day of the regular season at Houston.
A junior right-hander, Holiday helped OSU clinch the series and second place in the conference standings by working 8 1/3 innings against the Cougars and allowing just two runs on six hits as he improved to 5-3 on the season.
Holiday tied a career high with 14 strikeouts against UH, and in doing so, he became the 18th pitcher in OSU history to eclipse 100 strikeouts in a season.
OSU ended 2024 with five Big 12 weekly awards as Holiday joined Robert Cranz (Pitcher of the Week, April 15), Carson Benge (Player of the Week, April 29) and Nolan Schubart (Player of the Week, May 6) as winners.
