Cowboy Baseball Collects Conference Honors

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State had nine players earn All-Big 12 recognition from the conference's head coaches for the 2024 season.
Highlighting the list is outfielder Carson Benge, who was named to the All-Big 12 First Team for the second-straight year. Joining Benge on the All-Big 12 First Team is outfielder Zach Ehrhard and starting pitcher Brian Holiday.
Four Cowboys are on the All-Big 12 Second Team as infielder Colin Brueggemann, outfielder Nolan Schubart, starting pitcher Sam Garcia and relief pitcher Robert Cranz earned that distinction. Both Schubart and Brueggemann collected all-conference honors for the second consecutive season.
Rounding out OSU's list of all-conference performers are Aidan Meola and Tommy Molsky, who were named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention.
Benge owns a .327 batting average and leads the Cowboys in eight offensive categories, including hits (68), doubles (22), RBIs (57), walks (45) and total bases (139).
A sophomore, Benge leads the Big 12 in doubles and ranks among the top five in RBIs, walks, total bases, runs (61) and slugging percentage (.668).
Ehrhard earns All-Big 12 honors for the first time. The junior outfielder is hitting .325 and has posted career highs with 19 doubles, 11 homers and 45 RBIs.
In Big 12 play, Ehrhard ranked second in the league with a .404 batting average and tallied eight homers and 30 RBIs. He also led the conference with 40 runs and a .500 on-base percentage.
In his first season in a Cowboy uniform, Holiday owns a 5-3 record and a 3.32 ERA that ranks fifth in the conference.
Holiday leads the league with 95 innings pitched, and the right-hander ranks second in strikeouts (111) and fifth in opponent batting average (.207). He posted five double-digit strikeout performances, including a pair of 14 strikeout efforts.
Despite missing a dozen games with injury, Schubart leads the Cowboys with a .355 batting average and 17 homers, a total he has reached for the second-straight season.
Schubart leads the Big 12 in slugging percentage (.797) and on-base percentage (.505), good for a 1.303 OPS.
Brueggemann is on the All-Big 12 Second Team for a second-straight season. The junior first baseman is hitting .277 with 10 doubles, 14 homers and 46 RBIs.
In Big 12 play, Brueggemann posted a .300 batting average to go along with eight homers and a team-high 31 RBs.
Garcia established himself as the Cowboys' Friday night starter in his first season in Stillwater and owns a 6-3 record and 3.61 ERA in 14 starts.
A southpaw, Garcia ranks third in the Big 12 with 102 strikeouts and struck out at least six in 11 of his starts. He ranks fifth in the conference in innings pitched (77.1) and ninth in ERA and opponent batting average (.231).
Another hurler in his first season with the Cowboys, Cranz leads the team and ranks fourth in the league with 26 relief appearances.
The right-hander has been dominant, going 2-1 with a pair of saves and a 1.74 ERA, and he has racked up 52 strikeouts in 41 1/3 innings.
Another strong performer out of the bullpen, Molsky is tied for the team lead in wins and sports a 6-2 record and 4.91 ERA in 16 outings.
Molsky's 55 strikeouts are third on the team, and he is average 15 strikeouts per nine innings, which leads the Cowboys.
Meola has played in a career-high 38 games this season and owns a .322 batting average while posting career bests in homers (9) and RBIs (41).
Seeing time as a starter at second base, third base and DH, Meola has a .566 slugging percentage and is hitting .333 with runners in scoring position.
