Freshmen pace the Cowboy scoring in Spanish exhibition No. 2

VALENCIA, Spain -- Justin McBride scored 17 points and Quion Williams and Brandon Garrison both finished with double-doubles for the Oklahoma State men's basketball team in an 82-78 exhibition loss to the Embassy All-Stars on Thursday evening at L'Alqueria del Basket.

McBride – a freshman from Plano, Texas – made 4-of-5 three-point attempts in just over 13 minutes of action. Garrison paired 12 points with 12 rebounds (seven of them on the offensive end) to go with Quion Williams' 10 points and 11 boards. Eric Dailey Jr. joined them in double-figures with 11 points, while Javon Small added a team-high seven assists.

The Embassy All-Stars, a select group of seasoned European pros, sank 15 threes on 44% accuracy. They made 9-of-20 in the first half to build a 43-30 halftime lead.

OSU cut a 17-point margin to as little as three points in the final minute of the game but couldn't complete the comeback.

The Cowboys shot 36.5% for the game while converting 11-of-34 attempts from beyond the arc. They won the turnover (+8) and rebounding battles (+7) but missed 12-of-17 from throw attempts.
