Several OSU All-Americans Return for Multi-Meet Weekend
April 20, 2023 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State track & field returns to action Friday and Saturday in Palo Alto, Calif., and Norman, Okla., for the Payton Jordan and John Jacobs Invitationals.
Out west, Cowboy All-Americans Alex Maier, Rory Leonard and Isai Rodriguez will be competing in the men's 10,000 Meters in what is shaping up to be a loaded field. Maier and Leonard are running the event for the second time this season after opening their seasons at the Stanford Invitational three weeks ago. Rodriguez will be making his outdoor campaign debut after finishing as an All-American in both cross country and indoor track this season.
Fellow cross country All-American Victor Shitsama will also be competing for the second time this outdoor season in the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase after running the sixth-fastest Steeple time in program history at the Stanford Invitational.
Meanwhile in Norman for the John Jacobs Invitational, multiple school record holders will be making appearances in preparation for postseason action.
Long Jump program record holder Bailey Golden competes for the first time Friday since breaking her own school record in the Heptathlon at the Jim Click Shootout two weeks ago. Golden currently sits fifth in the NCAA in the Heptathlon and could earn a regional qualifier in the open Long Jump this weekend.
Ariadni Adamopoulou will also look to earn a regional qualifier in the Pole Vault and improve upon her school record of 4.25 meters set back in 2020. So far this season, the indoor Big 12 Champion has vaulted 4.15 meters at both the Texas Relays and Sooner Invitational.
Action for the Cowboys and Cowgirls at Stanford will be streamed live on FloTrack starting at 8:35 p.m. CT on Friday and 5:15 p.m. CT on Saturday. Live results for the meet can be found here.
In Norman, competition starts at 5 p.m. CT Friday and 10 a.m. CT Saturday with live results found on Delta Timing.
