Former Cowgirl Thrower Chase Ealey Wins Silver at World Indoor Championships

STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State thrower Chase Ealey tied the American record in the Shot Put on her way to a silver medal at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia on Friday.
Ealey moved into gold medal position and took over the 2022 world lead on her fifth throw but was passed by previous world leader Auriol Dongmo of Portugal on her fifth throw. Neither of them improved on their sixth and final throw, giving Ealey the silver medal and tying the American record with her throw of 20.21 meters (66-3.5).
Ealey competed for OSU from 2013-16 and currently holds both the indoor and outdoor program records in the Shot Put. She finished her Cowgirl career as a three-time All-American and 12-time All-Big 12 honoree in addition to her runner-up finish at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the Shot Put.
