March 01, 2022 | Cowboy Wrestling
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State wrestling signed a class of three in-state prospects to National Letters of Intent during the fall signing period on Wednesday.
Jordan Williams, Anthony Ferrari and Zach Blankenship make up the Cowboys' 2022 signing class.
John Smith and staff collected signatures from two top-20 recruits, and another ranked in the top-100 according to FloWrestling's Class of 2022 High School Big Board.
Williams, out of Owasso, Oklahoma, is the No. 2 ranked 160-pounder in the nation and No. 15 overall recruit, according to FloWrestling. A three-time Oklahoma state champ at Collinsville High School, he is also a two-time Fargo national champion and a Super 32 winner in 2019 on the freestyle circuit. As a senior, Williams moved to Owasso High School where he would claim the regional championship and advance to the state championship match before falling in overtime just short of becoming the state's 45th four-time champion.
Anthony Ferrari is a projected 165-pounder from Stillwater High School. FloWrestling tabbed him as the No. 12 overall recruit and the No. 3 wrestler at his weight class prior to the beginning of his final high school season. The younger brother of Oklahoma State sophomore and reigning 197-pound national champion, AJ Ferrari, Anthony is a former Super 32 finalist and was one of seven placers that were still in high school at the UWW Junior Nationals in 2020, with two of the others being OSU freshmen Carter Young and Victor Voinovich. As a junior, Ferrari won an individual state championship at 160 pounds for Stillwater as he helped lead the Pioneers to their first team state title since 2014.
A two-sport star in football and wrestling at Bixby High School, Zach Blankenship will join the Cowboys in the lower weights when he arrives in Stillwater. Blankenship is ranked the No. 11 prospect in the country at 138 pounds and No. 59 overall recruit in the class, according to MatScouts. A three-time state champion for the Spartans, Blankenship is projected to wrestle at 141 for the Cowboys.
