Billah Jepkirui Named Big 12 Women’s Runner of the Week
October 18, 2022 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State distance runner Billah Jepkirui was named Big 12 Women's Runner of the Week following her dominating win at the Weis-Crockett Invitational this past weekend, the conference announced Tuesday.
Jepkirui is the 12th Cowgirl to earn the award and the second this season, following teammate Natalie Cook's award on Sept. 27 after the Cowboy Jamboree. Jepkirui dominated the Weis-Crockett Invitational 6K field, leading from start-to-finish as she won by seven seconds overall. Her finishing time of 20:15.3 is the sixth-fastest time on the new iteration of the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course and the fastest this season.
Four Cowgirls on this year's roster have won Big 12 Runner of the Week honors in their careers, with Taylor Roe and Molly Born earning the awards in 2021 and 2019, respectively, to go along with Cook and Jepkirui's performances this season.
