Cowboy Baseball’s Mederos Selected To All-America Team

DURHAM, N.C. – Oklahoma State pitcher Victor Mederos has been named to Baseball America's 2022 Preseason All-America Second Team.
The Baseball America Preseason All-America team is selected by the scouting departments of Major League Baseball organizations who make their selections based on performance, talent and professional potential.
Mederos transferred to OSU following his freshman season at Miami in 2021. In 12 appearances with the Hurricanes, eight as a starter, the right-hander went 2-3 with a 5.11 ERA and tallied 35 strikeouts in 44 innings of work.
A native of Cuba who grew up in Miami, Mederos pitched for Chatham in the Cape Cod League in 2021. IN seven outings for the Anglers, he went 1-1 with a save and a 4.64 ERA and recorded 19 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings.
Mederos is the second Cowboy to earn Preseason All-America honors, joining fellow hurler Justin Campbell, who collected first-team honors from Collegiate Baseball.
