June 17, 2021 | Cowboy Baseball
DURHAM, N.C. – Oklahoma State's Justin Campbell has been tabbed a third-team All-American by Baseball America.
A two-way standout for the Cowboys, Campbell collected All-America honors from Baseball America as a utility player. He was previously named to the Collegiate Baseball All-America Second Team and the NCBWA Freshman All-America First Team.
A second-year freshman from Simi Valley, Calif., Campbell is one of five finalists for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award and was named to the All-Big 12 First Team as both a utility player and pitcher.
On the mound, Campbell made 14 appearances, 13 as a starter, and went 7-2 with a 2.57 ERA and 102 strikeouts in 84 innings of work. He recorded double digits in strikeouts five times.
A right-hander, Campbell is the 15th pitcher in OSU history to record 100 strikeouts in a season, and on May 8 at Kansas, he became only the third pitcher in the 110-year history of OSU baseball to throw a no-hitter in a nine-inning game.
Campbell appeared in 30 games as a designated hitter or pinch hitter and posted a .269 batting average to go along with a home run, five doubles and 10 RBIs.
