Cowboys Move Into First At Big 12 Championship

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team used a 2-under 278 during its third round at the Big 12 Championship on Tuesday to move into a three-way tie for first place with 18 holes remaining at Prairie Dunes Country Club.
The Cowboys will enter tomorrow's final round tied with Texas and Oklahoma at the par-70, 7,066-yard layout. The trio stands at 16-over 856 through 54 holes.
OSU's Bo Jin maintained his spot atop the leaderboard after carding a 70 on Tuesday. He stands at 1-under 209 and is tied with Texas' Cole Hammer and Texas Tech's Ludvig Aberg for first place.
Jin opened with a bogey at the first before carding birdies at Nos. 3 and 4 to move under par. After a bogey at the seventh, he made the turn at even-par 35. Jin stood at 2-over for the day through 13 before carding birdies at the 14th and the closing hole to move back to level par for the day.
The freshman was one of four Cowboys to finish the day inside the top 10.
Freshman Jonas Baumgartner fired a 68 to climb eight spots into a tie for eighth place at 217. Standing at 2-over through five holes, he posted birdies at Nos. 6 and 7 to turn in 35. Baumgartner would birdie three of his first five holes on the inward nine en route to a 2-under 33 side.
Baumgartner was joined at 217 by junior Austin Eckroat, who posted a 70 during his third round.
Sophomore Aman Gupta carded his second consecutive 70 to rise three spots into a tie for 10th place at 218.
Sophomore Eugenio Chacarra posted his low round of the event, a 71, to stand at 220 and tied for 18th place.
The Cowboys will be paired with the Longhorns for tomorrow's final round. They will begin play at 9:30 a.m. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
