Cowboys Advance to Title Match In Houston

HOCKLEY, TEXAS – Oklahoma State's men's golf team rolled past Kansas with a 6-0 victory over the Jayhawks on Saturday at Houston Oaks to advance to the championship match at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament.
The Cowboys finished pool play with a 2-0-1 record after their six starters combined to post a 12-2-4 mark at the par-71, 7,007-yard layout. OSU will face Baylor tomorrow afternoon.
Sophomore Aman Gupta improved to 3-0 at the event with his 4-and-2 win over Luke Kluver, while junior Austin Eckroat moved to 2-0-1 with his 4-and-3 triumph over Ben Sigel.
Sophomore Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen also remained unbeaten at 2-0-1 with a 4-and-3 win of his own over Zach Sokolosky.
Sophomore Eugenio Chacarra picked up his first win of the weekend to go with a pair of ties after coasting to a 6-and-5 win over Sion Audrain. Chacarra won the first two holes before Audrain pulled even three holes later. However, the transfer from Wake Forest won six of the next seven holes to pull away.
Freshmen Jonas Baumgartner and Brian Stark each improved to 2-1 on the weekend to make it a clean sweep for the Cowboys. Baumgartner defeated Harry Hillier, 4&2, while Stark posted a 1-up win over William Duquette.
