Cowboys 14th At Olympia Fields

Round 1 Results
OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 295 during the opening round of play on Friday at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational to stand in 14th place.
With their 15-over score, the Cowboys finished the day one shot behind Alabama at the par-70, 7,205-yard layout. Georgia Tech was the lone school to break par on the day, finishing at 2-under 278 and two shots clear of the field.
Pierceson Coody of Texas carded an opening 67 to hold the individual lead after 18 holes.
OSU junior Austin Eckroat carded an even-par 70 to pace the Cowboy starting five. Eckroat made the turn at even-par with a 35 total which included two birdies. He tallied nine consecutive pars on his inward nine to wrap up his round.
Freshman Brian Stark opened with a 73 to stand in a tie for 47th place.
Senior Ferdinand Müller and freshman Rayhan Thomas each carded 76s to stand in a tie for 67th place.
Sophomore Aman Gupta opened with a 79 and is tied for 82nd place.
Sophomore Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen is competing individually and is tied for 38th place after posting a 72.
The Cowboys will begin their second round tomorrow at 9 a.m. and will be grouped with Indiana and Alabama. Live scoring for the event will be available at golfstat.com.
