Cowboys Look To Defend At Olympia Fields

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will resume its fall slate this weekend when it takes part in the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational.
Now in its 14th year at famed Olympia Fields Country Club, the 54-hole event will begin on Friday and run through Sunday at the par-70, 7,205-yard layout. The Cowboys enter play as the defending champion after cruising to an 18-shot victory a year ago and will be one of 15 teams in action.
Last year, the Cowboys finished with an 11-under total of 829, a tournament record, while Matthew Wolff captured medalist honors with a 6-under tally of 204. OSU also won the event in 2007 and has produced the individual medalist on three other occasions with Rickie Fowler (2007), Trent Whitekiller (2009) and Peter Uihlein (2010) all winning the tournament during their collegiate careers.
Fowler's 63 during his second round in 2007 still stands as the low round of the event.
The Cowboy lineup this week will consist of senior Ferdinand Müller, junior Austin Eckroat, sophomore Aman Gupta and freshmen Brian Stark and Rayhan Thomas.
