Matthew Wolff Earns Historic PGA Tour Victory

BLAINE, Minn. — Former Oklahoma State All-American Matthew Wolff earned his first career PGA Tour victory in just his third start as a professional at the 3M Open after making eagle at the 72nd hole on Sunday at TPC Twin Cities.
After hitting a 5-iron to 26 feet at the last, Wolff rolled in his putt to finish with a closing 6-under 65. Overall, he posted a 21-under total of 263 to come in one shot clear of Collin Morikawa and Bryson DeChambeau.
The win was historic on several levels for Wolff. After winning the NCAA individual title for the Cowboys last spring, he is just the third player in history to win the event and a PGA Tour title in the same year, joining Tiger Woods and Ben Crenshaw.
Additionally, he is the eighth player since 1970 to win in his fourth Tour start or earlier and he became the ninth-youngest winner in Tour history.
The Agoura Hills, Calif., native took home $1.152 million for his victory, a two-year Tour exemption and eligibility for the upcoming FedEx Cup Playoffs.
