2019 Cowboy Baseball: The Catchers
February 05, 2019 | Cowboy Baseball
The 2019 baseball starts next week, with Oklahoma State opening play at UT Rio Grande Valley on Feb. 15. The Cowboys are ranked as high as 16th in the preseason national polls.
OSU is coming off a 31-26-1 season in which the Cowboys finished second in the Big 12 Conference and earned an NCAA Regional berth for the sixth consecutive year under head coach Josh Holliday.
With the '19 season right around the corner, we're breaking down the OSU roster by position and continue today with the catchers, a position that Holliday says is the deepest it's been in a while.
"I like the way we'll be able to match up back there, I like the way we'll be able to provide our offensive look a right- or left-handed hitting option at the position and I like the versatility that those young men have," Holliday said.
Bryce Carter, Senior, 6-1, 221, L/R
Colin Simpson, Senior, 5-9, 228, L/R
Jake Taylor, Sophomore, 6-0, 205, R/R
Josh Spiegel, Freshman, 6-2, 202, R/R
