Oklahoma State Cross Country Falls in Week 3 Polls

STILLWATER— The Cowboy cross country squad dropped one spot to No. 22 and the Cowgirls slid to No. 29 in Week 3 of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Coaches' Poll, the organization announced Tuesday.
The OSU men's cross country team hasn't competed since Sept. 1, but still fell one spot in the weekly rankings to No. 22. The Cowboys finished fourth at the Hurricane Invitational in their lone competition this season
The Cowboys are the second-highest ranked Big 12 team, trailing only No. 5 Iowa State. Texas moved into No. 30 after receiving votes in the first three national rankings.
There was no change in the Midwest Regional rankings this week, meaning the Cowboys are still No. 2 in the region, again only trailing Iowa State.
The Cowgirls dropped three spots into a tie with Portland at 29th in this week's rankings. The Cowgirls have raced once this season at the Hurricane Invitational. They finished second and Sinclaire Johnson won the event on Sept. 1.
The Cowgirls also rank the second-highest of Big 12 teams, coming in 12 spots behind Iowa State. Texas fell out of the rankings, but still received votes.
The Midwest Regional rankings was also unchanged on the women's side, keeping the Cowgirls at third in the region.
Both cross country teams head to Madison, Wisconsin, on Friday to run in the Nuttycombe Invitational to compete with the country's elite in preparation for the NCAA Championships, which will also be held in the Badger State.
