PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team carded its second consecutive round of 350 at The Carmel Cup on Saturday to slip into third place at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
The top-ranked Cowboys' 20-under total of 700 is nine shots behind Georgia for second place at the par-72, 6,828-yard layout. Oklahoma leads with its 676 total.
OU's Garett Reband leads the individual race at 130 after posting a 66 during his second round.
OSU's Matthew Wolff will begin tomorrow's final round within striking distance of his first career victory after carding a 66 during his second round. The sophomore, who earned four runner-up finishes as a freshman, opened with a 65 and stands at 13-under 131.
During his second round, Wolff eagled the par-5 second and added a birdie at the seventh to turn in 3-under 33. After posting birdies at the 10th, 12th and 14th, Wolff posted his lone bogey of the day at the 16th before bouncing back with a birdie at the 18th to get back to 6-under par for the day.
Senior Hayden Wood followed an opening 68 with a 71 to stand at 139 and tied for 15th place, while classmate Zach Bauchou bounced back from an opening 73 with a 68 to come in tied for 22nd place at 141.
Junior transfer Ferdinand Müller posted a 74 to finish the day tied for 32nd place at 146.
Freshman Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen carded a 71 to finish at 147 and tied for 35th place.
Sophomore Austin Eckroat's 76 gave him a 148 total and sole possession of 39th place.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 8:10 a.m. (PST) and will be grouped with Arkansas, Georgia and Oklahoma. Live scoring for the event is available at golfstat.com.
