Cowboys Second At The Carmel Cup

Round 1 Results
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted an opening total of 350 at The Carmel Cup on Friday to stand alone in second place at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
For the top-ranked Cowboys, their 10-under score was 10 shots off the pace of Oklahoma at the par-72, 6,828-yard layout. Georgia was third at 352, while TCU was fourth at 354.
Sophomore Matthew Wolff fired a 7-under 65 to stand in second place and one shot out of the top spot on the leaderboard. Wolff opened with a pair of birdies before adding three more at Nos. 4, 6 and 7. With another birdie at the ninth, Wolff turned in 6-under 30.
Wolff got to 8-under with birdies at the 13th and 14th before closing his inward nine with his lone bogey of the day at the 18th.
Senior Hayden Wood joined Wolff in the top five after carding a 68, which included five birdies and an eagle, to finish the day tied for fifth place.
Sophomore Austin Eckroat and junior transfer Ferdinand Müller each posted even-par totals of 72 to come in tied for 23rd place.
Senior Zach Bauchou opened with a 1-over 73 to stand in a tie for 29th place.
Freshman Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen opened with a 76 and is tied for 41st place.
The Cowboys, who are seeking victory at the event for the fourth year in a row, will begin their second round tomorrow at 8 a.m. (PST) and will be grouped with TCU, Georgia and Oklahoma.
