Oklahoma State took the final game of its weekend series at Arizona State last Sunday to finish the week with a 2-3 showing. OSU is now 6-4 on the season and will take on Missouri State today in Springfield, Mo., in the Bears' 2018 home opener.

Weekend Highlights and Notes
•       Carson Teel earned his first win of the season last Sunday at Arizona State. The junior southpaw relieved starting pitcher C.J. Varela in the third inning and finished the 10-inning contest, pitching a career-high 7 1/3 innings. He allowed just one run on six hits and struck out five.
•       Freshman and Stillwater native Dylan Gardner made his first collegiate at-bat a memorable one last Friday as he collected a single as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning vs. the Sun Devils.
•       Max Hewitt got his first two career starts in an OSU uniform on Saturday and Sunday, both coming at shortstop. He went 2-for-6 in with a double and a walk in the series.
•       OSU outfielder Jon Littell has reached base safely in nine-straight games.
•       Matt Kroon leads the Pokes in hitting with a .324 batting average, and the junior has an eight-game streak of reaching base safely.
•       Senior Andrew Rosa is hitting .321 and leads the Cowboys in on-base percentage (.457) and runs scored (9).

Big 12 Spotlight
•       Jonathan Heasley is tied with Texas' Nolan Kingham and Kansas' Taylor Turski for third in the Big 12 in strikeouts with 21. The Cowboys' sophomore right-hander has struck out at least six in each of his three starts this season.
•       Teel ranks sixth in the league in ERA at 1.98 and second in saves (3); opponents are hitting just .200 against him, which is eighth in the Big 12.

•       The Cowboys face Missouri State (6-3) today at 3 p.m. in Springfield, Mo. The Bears are coming off a pair of wins against Pepperdine and No. 24 East Carolina, which marked their first regular season win over a ranked opponent in three years.
•       OSU is 13-7 all time against Missouri State, and 7-1 under head coach Josh Holliday.
•       Missouri State is No. 29 in Collegiate Baseball's Top 30 Poll.
•       MSU sophomore catcher Drew Millas is the reigning Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week after going 7-for-9 this past weekend with five RBIs.
•       Following today's contest, the Cowboys will open a seven-game homestand at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium when they host Eastern Michigan in a three-game weekend series beginning Friday at 4 p.m.
