Oklahoma State opens the 2018 season Friday with a three-game road series against Texas State in San Marcos, Texas.
OSU is coming off a season in which it captured the 2017 Big 12 Championship title, which crowned the Cowboys as conference champions for the 32nd time in their storied history. The Pokes went 4-0 at the Big 12 Championship to become the first team to ever win the Big 12 tourney as a No. 8 seed.
The 2018 season will mark OSU's sixth under the direction of head coach Josh Holiday, who has led his alma mater to five NCAA Regional appearances and a top-two finish in the Big 12 standings four times.
With the season right around the corner, we're taking a look at the Cowboys' roster heading into 2018. We'll break down the roster by position, and we're highlighting the left-handed pitchers on the OSU pitching staff in this edition.

Noah Sifrit, Freshman, 6-0, 192, L/L
- Two-way player also expected to see time in the outfield.
- 2017 Rawlings/PG Honorable Mention All-American and an All-Texas Region First Team performer at Coronado High School in Lubbock, Texas.
- As a senior n the mound went 7-2 with a save in 11 appearances; turned in a 1.42 ERA and collected 108 strikeouts in 64 innings pitched.
Carson Teel, Junior, 6-1, 175, L/L
- Led OSU with 28 appearances, 25 of those coming in relief.
- Posted a team-best 3.06 ERA.
- Tied for the team lead with three saves and ranked second with five wins and 77 strikeouts.
- Selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 27th round of the MLB Draft.
Mitchell Stone, Freshman, 6-9, 266, L/L
- 2017 Rawlings/PG First-Team All-American and All-West Region First Team performer.
- 2016 Under Armour All-American and Rawlings/PG Underclassmen First-Team All-American.
- As a senior at Deer Creek High School went 8-2 with a 2.33 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 51 innings pitched.
- Named to the USA Baseball 18U National Team Trials Roster in 2016; played in the USA Tournament of Stars in 2015 and 2016.
Brady Basso, Sophomore, 6-2, 213, R/L
- Made 12 appearances in 2017, two of those as a starter, and went 1-0 with a 3.06 ERA.
- Racked up 28 strikeouts in just 17 2/3 innings of work.
Cole Hearrean, Senior, 6-0, 200, R/L
- Ranked second on team as a junior with 26 appearances, 25 of those in relief.
- Recorded 26 strikeouts in 24 2/3 innings.
- Pitched in three of the Cowboys' four games during their Big 12 Championship title run.
Ryan Van Leeuwen, Junior, 6-2, 213, L/L
- Transfer from Weatherford Junior College where he made 15 appearances, including 10 starts, as a sophomore and went 4-5 with three complete games.
- Also had 46 strikeouts in 46 2/3 innings.
- Started his career at UT Arlington, where he pitched in eight games as a freshman reliever.
Parker Scott, Redshirt Freshman, 6-1,165, L/L
- Will miss the 2018 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in November.
- Pitched in six games, two as a starter, before injury ended his 2017 season.
