Top-Ranked Cowboys Set To Tee It Up In Hawaii

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will get its spring slate underway on Thursday when it begins play at the Amer Ari Invitational at Waikoloa Kings' Course.
The top-ranked Cowboys will be one of 18 teams in action at the par-72, 7,074-yard layout. The 54-hole event will consist of 18 holes each day Thursday through Saturday.
OSU's starting five will consist of sophomore Viktor Hovland, junior Zach Bauchou, junior Hayden Wood, freshman Matthew Wolff and freshman Austin Eckroat. Junior Nick Heinen, senior Sam Stevens and senior Kristoffer Ventura will compete individually.
Bauchou carries a No. 7 ranking into the year, while Wolff starts the spring slate at No. 15.
The Cowboys have won the event on six occasions with their most recent title coming in 2014. That year, also produced the Cowboys most recent individual medalist at the tournament in Jordan Niebrugge.
OSU also won the event in 2011, 2005, 1996, 1995 and 1991. In addition to Niebrugge, Tyler Leon, Jonathan Moore, Alan Bratton and Craig Hainline have won the individual title for the Cowboys.
