Viktor Hovland Named To All-Freshman Team

SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – Oklahoma State's Viktor Hovland was one of five players named to the Golf Coaches Association of America All-Freshman Team it was announced today by the GCAA.
Hovland was joined on the squad by Vanderbilt's John Augenstein, Baylor's Cooper Dossey, Clemson's Doc Redman and Oregon's Norman Xiong.
A native of Oslo, Norway, Hovland closed his rookie campaign with five consecutive top 10s, including a tie for eighth place at this week's NCAA Championship. The first-team All-Big 12 selection began his run with a tie for eighth place a the Aggie Invitational before a runner-up showing at The Maxwell.
Hovland followed with a tie for sixth place at the Big 12 Championship and a tie for fifth place at the NCAA Austin Regional.
Hovland was one of six Cowboys recently named an All-Central Region pick as well.
