HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Through 54 holes at the Big 12 Championship, Oklahoma State's men's golf team stands at 870, giving them a share of the lead heading into Wednesday's final round at Prairie Dunes Country Club.
During Tuesday's two rounds, the Cowboys carded a 286 during their morning round before following with a 282 to share the top spot with Texas at the par-70, 6,940-yard layout. The Longhorns posted a 274 during their second round to surge up the leaderboard and take a one-shot lead heading into the afternoon round before their 283 dropped them back into a tie with OSU.
UT's Scottie Scheffler and Oklahoma's Brad Dalke wrapped up the day atop the individual leaderboard with matching totals of 215.
OSU's Zach Bauchou moved within one shot of the leaders after posting rounds of 71 and 70 to share third place at 216. During his third round, the sophomore went out in 1-under 34 with birdies at Nos. 13, 17 and 18 before posting an inward nine of 1-over 36, which included a birdie at the seventh.
Junior Kristoffer Ventura fired rounds of 69 and 67 to join Bauchou in the top 10, moving from 42nd place into a tie for 10th at 10-over 220. Ventura's 3-under third round tally included an outward nine of 1-under 34 with a stretch of three consecutive birdies at Nos. 15-17. His inward nine featured birdies at the third, fifth and sixth.
"It has been windy all day and I played really, really good and posted a score and helped my team," Ventura said. "My short game was good. Off the tee I wasn't very good, but I was able to scramble whenever I needed to and I made some putts. When you add it up it was a pretty good day,"
Senior Zachary Olsen climbed toward the top 10 courtesy of a 69 during his third round, which moved him into a tie for 13th place at 221. He signed for a 76 during his morning round.
