Oklahoma State Signs 13 to 2018-19 Roster

STILLWATER — The Oklahoma State Cross Country and Track and Field program announced 13 student-athletes have signed national letters of intent to join the teams starting in the fall of 2018.
"I think we signed some really talented athletes," assistant coach Cody Halsey said. "Not only are each of these signees exceptional athletes, but they are great people who are fun to be around. That in itself will make an impact on our team."
Molly Born – Lake Quivira, KS
Molly Born is joining Oklahoma State from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. Born is a decorated athlete, including two state championships in the 1,600m, two state titles in the 3,200m and a two-time cross country state champion. She holds the Kansas state meet records in both events as well. Along with being well recognized in Kansas, Born is the seventh-ranked 1,600m junior in the country in 2017, as well as the No. 4 returning 3,200m runner in the nation. She was also named the 2016 Nike Cross Heartland Regional Champion and the 2016 Gatorade Kansas Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year.

"She was a huge signing and we are thrilled to have her," Halsey said. "I think she will make an immediate impact on our program. She's incredibly talented and she's capable of doing some really big things at Oklahoma State."
Hannah Bradford – Moore, OK
Hannah Bradford is joining Oklahoma State from Moore High School. She comes in earning a third-place finish in the discus at the 2017 state championships.
Bailey Golden – Choctaw, OK
Bailey Golden is joining Oklahoma State from Choctaw High School. Golden comes in as a two-time state champion in the high jump in 2016 and 2017. She also earned state runner-up in 2015. Also in 2017, Golden earned a state title in the long jump, and was a member of the state championship basketball team and named Honorable Mention All-State. She is expected to be a heptathlete for OSU.
Ashenafi Hatte – Minneapolis, MN
Ashenafi Hatte is joining Oklahoma State from Iowa Central Community College as a junior-college transfer. Hatte comes in decorated with a sixth-place finish at the 2016 NJCCA DI Men's Cross Country Championship and the 2017 NJCCA 1,500m silver medal. He was also on the All-State Soccer Team three times throughout high school.
"Both Jorge Perez and Hatte performed well at their previous colleges, so we expect them to make an immediate impact," assistant coach Bobby Lockhart said.
Justin Long – Lilburn, GA
Justin Long is joining Oklahoma State from Parkview High School. Long guided his team to state championships in the 4x100 and 4x400m relay. He also helped his team set a national record in the Swedish Medley Relay with a FAT split of 46.60 at New Balance Outdoors. Long was the 400m state champion as a freshman, and attended the same high school as former OSU star and current Seattle Seahawk Chris Carson.

LaKyron Mays – Dallas, TX
LaKyron Mays is joining Oklahoma State from David W. Carter High School. Mays ran an impressive 400/800/4x4 treble at the UIL Texas State Meet. He placed second in the 400m, third in the 800m and helped his 4x4 team win with a leadoff-leg of about 47 seconds. He led off the Texas Select team that ran under 3:09 at the Great Southwest Outdoor Classic. Mays also anchored his summer track club team to a 4x400m championship in the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships this year.

Amanda Mayoral – Rio Rancho, NM
Amanda Mayoral is joining Oklahoma State from Sue Cleveland High School. Mayoral has numerous state titles in her name, including one in the 1,600m, two in the 3,200m and a three-time cross country state champion. She was named the 2017 Nike Cross Southwest Regional Champion and the 2015 and 2016 Gatorade New Mexico Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year.

"She's the standout athlete from New Mexico who really seems to keep exceeding expectations this year," Halsey said. "She's coming off a fantastic cross country season and it will be really fun seeing what she does on the track this year."
Nick McMillin – Moore, OK
Nick McMillin is joining Oklahoma State from Moore High School. McMillin comes in as the 2017 state runner-up in the discus. He has also competed in the hammer throw at the USATF Junior Olympic National Championships.
Makenna Parker – Tuttle, OK
Makenna Parker is joining Oklahoma State from Tuttle High School. Parker joins the Cowgirls as a champion in the 100m hurdles and earning a fourth-place finish in the 300m hurdles. She also comes in earning All-State honors in softball for helping her team to a state championship this fall. She is expected to be a heptathlete for OSU.
Jorge Perez – Reedley, CA
Jorge Perez is joining Oklahoma State in January from Central Arizona as a junior-college transfer. Perez boasts an impressive third-place finish at the 2016 NJCCA Cross Country Nationals before joining the Cowboys.

Isaiah Priddey – Hamilton, New Zealand
Isaiah Priddey is joining Oklahoma State from Hamilton, New Zealand, where he found success as a talented middle-distance runner.

"Priddey has excellent marks for his age," Lockhart said. "Based on his 3K personal best from a year ago, he has the ability to do some special things his freshman year."
Rilee Rigdon – Bartlesville, OK
Rilee Rigdon is joining Oklahoma State from Bartlesville High School. Rigdon earned a 2017 cross country state title, as well as being an 800m state champion.

Maddie Salek – Oakdale, PA
Maddie Salek is joining Oklahoma State from West Allegheny High School in Pennsylvania.
