Cowboys Return To Action At Olympia Fields

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Fresh off a win in its season-opening event, Oklahoma State's men's golf team will continue its fall slate this weekend when it begins play at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational at historic Olympia Fields Country Club.
The 15-team field will begin play on Friday morning at the par-70, 7,205-yard layout. The tournament will consist of 54 holes over three days with 18 being played each day through Sunday. Play will begin at 9 a.m. (CST) on Friday and Saturday, while Sunday's final round will get underway at 8 a.m.
The Cowboys are coming off an eight-shot win at The Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach Golf Links in their first event of the fall season.
Junior Sam Stevens and sophomore Nick Heinen, who both finished in the top five at the season opener, will be in the lineup again for OSU this weekend. They will be joined by senior Zachary Olsen as well as sophomores Zach Bauchou and Hayden Wood.
The Cowboys won the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational in 2007. Additionally, OSU has produced three medalists at the event with Rickie Fowler (2007), Trent Whitekiller (2009) and Peter Uihlein (2010) all taking top honors.
