Loevnes Earns Academic All-America Honor

AUSTIN, Texas โย Two-time All-American Ingeborg Loevnesย has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America All-America Women's Track and Field/Cross Country second team, the organization announced Friday.

Loevnes was a star on the track and in the classroom this season, finishing with a 4.0 grade-point average and earning two All-America honors.

She helped OSU to its first Big 12 cross country title and a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships where she earned her first All-America honor of the year. The Cowgirls finished first at every regular season meet during the 2015 campaign and also won the Midwest Regional meet to clinch a team spot at the NCAA Championships.ย

During the outdoor season, Loevnes took fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final at the NCAA Championships in just her first outdoor championships appearance. She won the Big 12's 3,000-meter steeplechase title and finished third in the 1,500-meter run to complete an impressive double in less than an hour.

Loevnes is a Norwegian international who earned an all-academic Big 12 nod this season, as well. She majored in University Studies โ Pre-Med, and is a medical student in her home country of Norway.
