You Dropped A Bomb On Me: The Story Behind A Cowboy Baseball Tradition

You've heard it time and again – and it inadvertently became a part of Cowboy Baseball lore 30 years ago.
This is the story of one of the greatest and most well-known traditions in college baseball — when Oklahoma State hits a home run at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium, The Gap Band's "You Dropped A Bomb On Me" blares through the ballpark speakers.
We'll let one of the tale's main characters, Jack Carnefix, take it from here (click video link on picture above), with OSU head coach and former Cowboy All-American Josh Holliday – who hit 53 home runs in his Cowboy career – also chiming in.
