ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team opened play on Friday with a 293 to stand in a three-way tie for seventh place at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, which is being contested at the Golf Club of Georgia's Lakeside and Creekside Courses.
The Cowboys' wrapped up the day tied with Auburn and Stanford. Oklahoma jumped out in front with a 283 to finish the day two shots ahead of Duke for the top spot on the leaderboard.
Virginia's Jimmy Stanger fired an opening 67 to lead a trio of players by a shot in the individual race.
Cowboy sophomore Zach Bauchou found his way into the top 10, posting a 1-under 71 to finish in a nine-way logjam for eighth place.
Freshman Viktor Hovland signed for a 73 to stand in a tie for 24thplace, while junior Stratton Nolen was a stroke back and tied for 30th place after posting his 74.
Junior Sam Stevens carded a 75 to finish the day tied for 43rd place.
Junior Kristoffer Ventura came in alone in 80th place after carding a 79.
The Cowboys will begin their second round tomorrow at 9 a.m. (EST) and will be grouped with UCLA and Wake Forest. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
