Edwards, Teeters Highlight Solid Outing for OSU Track and Field

Edwards clocks personal best 800 meters and Teeters wins his 100-meter dash season debut

STILLWATER -- The Oklahoma State track and field team competed at both the John Jacobs Invitational in Norman, Okla., and the Mt. SAC
Relays in Southern California Saturday, highlighted by a personal-best performance from Kaela Edwards in the 800 meters and a first-place finish
from John Teeters in the 100-meter dash.

Teeters ran in his first 100-meter dash of the season and looked just as sharp as the last time he ran outdoor race for OSU at the 2014 NCAA
Championships. Teeters, the school record-holder in the event, ran a 10.20 in his season debut, winning the final and picking up 10 points for the
Cowboys in the team competition.

"I thought he executed well," coach Diego Flaquer said. "There wasn't anyone really there to challenge him, but he got a regional mark out of it.
Now we can focus on conference meet."

Teeters' time is third in the Big 12, a conference that now holds three of the 10 fastest times in the NCAA this year, more than any other
conference. His mark is ninth in the NCAA this season.

Edwards set a personal best and claimed the third fastest 800-meter time in school history at the Mt. San Antonio College Invitational. She ran in
the elite heat of the race and finished seventh with a time of 2:03.28. In a field of mostly professional athletes, Edwards had the top NCAA-eligible
time in the competition.

"It was her first 800 of the season and she got into the school's top-10," coach Dave Smith said. "Kaela has big goals and I think she can achieve
them, she just has to take more risks on the track."

Edwards was the national runner-up in the indoor running of the 800. Her time is the best in the Big 12, just ahead of fellow Cowgirl Savannah
Camacho, and it is third in the NCAA and second in the West region.

Three OSU top-10 marks were set in the women's 400-meter dash in Norman when Stephanie Ferrante, Summor Fields and Danielle Coleman
finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

Ferrante finished the race with the eighth-fastest 400-meter dash in school history. She cruised to a fourth place finish in the event, running a
56.48. Fields and Coleman also ran in the 400, finishing in 56.51 and 56.87, respectively, with the ninth and 10th fastest times in school history.

In the men's long jump, Arlando Brewer-Johnson jumped a career-best 6.73m/22-1 and finished eighth in the event.

In California, Kaylee Dodd and Bailey Johnson each had top-10 Big 12 times, Friday. Dodd finished 10th in the open running of the 800-meter run
in 2:08.28, and Bailey Johnson's season best time of 1:01.12 in the 400-meter hurdles earned her 19th place in the event. Dodd's time is sixth in
the conference, which now gives the Cowgirls four of the top six 800 times in the Big 12. Johnson's mark is good for seventh.

"Kaylee and Kaela ran the same race on different days and they run the same style," Smith said. "In a field this large, it gets hard to run on open
track when your running style is to start out in the back. There's definitely a lot more in both of them."

Chase Ealey won another women's shot put competition, giving the Cowgirl her fourth top-three finish in four meets this season. Her throw of
16.45m/53-11.75 was two feet better than the second place finisher and would be the third-best mark in the conference if Ealey weren't already
No. 1.

Next up for OSU is a trip to Des Moines, Iowa, to compete in the 2015 Drake Relays.
