STILLWATER – Kellie Reeves, formerly the social media coordinator for the University of Oregon athletics department, has been hired to oversee social media for Oklahoma State athletics, it was announced today.
At Oregon, Reeves implemented and managed all social media efforts for the department of athletics and developed a comprehensive multi-platform social media strategy. She oversaw a staff of five interns and was responsible for running Oregon's Quack Cave.
A native of Eugene, Ore., and graduate of Boise State, Reeves will operate in a similar role at Oklahoma State, helping to implement, execute and manage a social media strategy built around fan engagement and expanding OSU's presence.
"I'm thrilled to join the Oklahoma State team and this is a very exciting opportunity for me," Reeves said. "There are great stories to be told in an athletic department as successful as OSU's and I look forward to doing my part in sharing those stories through social media.""We felt that In order to conceive and implement a strategic game plan that encompasses the entire scope of the social media landscape, we needed an employee dedicated to the cause," said Kevin Klintworth, senior associate athletic director for communications. "Social media impacts every area of athletics from compliance, marketing and ticketing to recruiting and the game-day experience of our fans. Kellie's background and creativity were exactly what we were looking for when we began our search for a social media coordinator."
