Cowboy Golf Signs One

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State's men's golf team signed Viktor Hovland to a National Letter of Intent it has been announced by Cowboy head coach Alan Bratton.
"Viktor is a great fit for Oklahoma State and our program. He's played around the world and has only scratched the surface of his potential," Bratton said. "He's been a leader as a part of the national team for Norway so he understands team golf. Viktor is one of the best players in Europe and it's great to have him in Orange!"
A native of Oslo, Norway, Hovland finished ninth at the Spanish Amateur Championship this year and seventh at the Titleist Tour Finale. He logged top 10s stateside this past year at The Junior Players Championship where he finished ninth and turned in a seventh-place showing at the AJGA Thunderbird International Junior.
The 2015 Norwegian International Trophy champion, Hovland was the No. 2 ranked junior in Norway, where he was a member of the national team, this past year. He also ranks in the top 150 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. He competed this past fall for Norway at the Spirit International, helping his squad to a top-five finish.
This past summer, Hovland fired rounds of 68 and 71 to tie for second place during the stroke play portion of the U.S. Junior Amateur. Additionally, he posted a 3-0-1 mark in August at the Jacques Leglise Trophy while competing as a member of the Continent of Europe squad.
