WALTON-ON-THE-HILL, England - Oklahoma State's Wyndham Clark closed out play on Saturday at the Palmer Cup with a 4-and-2 setback against Jon Rahm at Walton Heath Golf Club.
The loss was part of a dominating performance during the final day of singles matches at the event for Europe, which secured an 18.5-11.5 victory over the United States. Clark, a rising sophomore for the Cowboys, finished with a record of 0-2-2 in the competition.
On Friday, Clark halved his second match of the event, finishing all square with Erik Oja during the first day of singles action.
Saturday's match saw Clark take the first before Rahm moved back to square at the second. After a win at the seventh by Rahm, Clark birdied the eighth to draw back even. However, Rahm took control of the match with wins at Nos. 9 and 10. He closed out Clark with a win at the 16th.
With the two teams knotted at 10 apiece heading into Saturday's action, it was Europe claiming 8.5 of the possible 10 points to pull within 9-8-1 in the all-time series.
