Cowboy Golf Moves Into Fourth Place

TRINITY, Texas - Oklahoma State's men's golf team carded a 293 during its third round at the Big 12 Championship on Saturday to move into a tie for fourth place at Whispering Pines Golf Club.
Through 54 holes, the Cowboys have tallied a 23-over total of 887 at the par-72, 7,473-yard layout and are tied with TCU. OSU will enter tomorrow's final round four shots behind Iowa State and its 883 total for third place. Texas Tech and Texas separated from the field with Tech posting an 866 total to lead the Longhorns by one stroke.
TCU's Julien Brun fired a 6-under 66 to move into the top spot in the individual race. He holds a three-shot advantage over the field with his 5-under total of 211.
OSU senior Talor Gooch and freshman Zachary Olsen paced the Cowboy starting five, finishing the day tied for 13th place at 221. Gooch carded the squad's low round of the day with a 71, while Olsen turned in a 75.
Senior Ian Davis joined the duo in the top 20, wrapping up play tied for 19th place at 223 after posting a 77 during his third round.
Sophomore Jordan Niebrugge carded a 73 to stand in a tie for 26th place at 225, while redshirt freshman Wyndham Clark's 74 tied him for 33rd place at 229.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. and will be grouped with TCU and Baylor.
