OSU Jumpers, Throwers Lead The Way In Norman

Taylor Stolt won the women's long jump and Caitlin Way and Taylor Buck each turned in second-place finishes in their respective events to lead the Oklahoma State men's and women's track and field teams at the John Jacobs Invitational in Norman, Okla., this weekend.
Stolt won the long jump with a mark of 5.61m/18-5.00, coming on the heels of a personal-best mark at the Tulsa Duels last weekend.
On the men's side, Taylor Buck and Cody Kenny earned second-place finishes in the high jump and long jump, respectively.
"It was a smaller competition and there weren't many other teams there, but it was good to get those first and second place finishes," OSU jumps coach Zivile Pukstiene said. "The weather wasn't nice, but we've practiced in those conditions. We went out and competed. They did a great job. This is a good start, and we will keep building as the season goes on."
On Friday in the women's hammer throw, Caitlin Way took second place with a throw of 54.87m/180-00. Chandra Andrews, a post-collegiate athlete throwing unattached, took first.
"She keeps striving and moving forward," OSU throws coach John Baumann said. "We're much further along this year than what we were at this point last year, so she keeps moving ahead and doing what she needs to do. That's what we need to compete in the conference."
The OSU track and field teams will be split up next weekend, competing at the Texas Relays March 28-30, the Stanford Invitational March 29-30 and the Arkansas Spring Invitational March 30.
