Oklahoma State baseball hosted its inaugural First Pitch Banquet last Friday, and the event to celebrate the Cowboy program and kickoff the 2013 season was a huge success.
Nearly 700 people attended the banquet, which was held at Gallagher-Iba Arena, and approximately $25,000 was raised for the baseball program via a silent auction and raffle.
"We want to thank everybody for attending; it was a fantastic night," said OSU head coach Josh Holliday. "It was great to see so many OSU fans, friends, former players, parents of our current players and really awesome to see so many people from the Stillwater community turn out. It was a huge success for us in that it was a celebration of OSU baseball's past, present and future, and we were able to raise around $25,000 to support our program, which is much appreciated and goes a long way.
"This is something we definitely intend to do on a yearly basis. We hope to grow it and continue to bring back as many fans, friends and alumni as we can so that we can celebrate OSU baseball each year and kickoff the season."
