Fanning Joins Cowboy Baseball Staff

STILLWATER, Okla. – Roland Fanning has joined the Oklahoma State baseball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant, it was announced by OSU head coach Josh Holliday.
Fanning comes to Stillwater after spending five seasons as an assistant baseball coach and assistant marketing director at Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant, Okla. On the baseball staff, he under legendary SE coach Mike Metheny.
“Roland Fanning is a perfect fit for our coaching staff and our program,” Holliday said. “He has great energy, a passion for coaching and a love for Oklahoma State that is evident in everything he does. Our players will benefit from his knowledge and respect for the game, and he has great people skills and respect for the coaching profession. We are fortunate to have him.”
During his tenure at Southeastern, Fanning coached five All-Americans, 20 all-conference performers, a conference pitcher of the year and a pair of Major League Baseball Draft picks. In 2012, the Savage Storm finished second in the Great American Conference, which came after a 2011 campaign that saw them win a Lone Star Conference championship.
Fanning played collegiately at Carl Albert State College and NOC-Enid before finishing his career as a two-year starter and team captain at Southeastern. He graduated from Southeaster with a degree in recreation in December 2005.
A native of Coalgate, Okla., Fanning is engaged to Beverly Hemphill.
