LUBBOCK, Texas – Oklahoma State's Andrew Heaney is one of 51 pitchers on the College Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher of the Year Watch List, it was announced by the College Baseball Hall of Fame earlier this week.
A junior southpaw, Heaney is the ace of a Cowboy staff, sporting a 5-1 record and 2.02 ERA in 10 starts. He has tossed three complete games and ranks second nationally with 94 strikeouts. He has recorded eight or more strikeouts in eight of his 10 appearances this season, including reaching a career-high 13 on two occasions.
“The pitchers featured on this top 50 list have been dominant all season,” said Justin Knowles, Pitcher of the Year Award co-chair. “They have impressive individual game statistics as well as season-long numbers that justify their inclusion on the list. I look forward to seeing how they finis the last month of the season.”
The winner of the Pitcher of the Year Award will be announced on June 30 in Lubbock, Texas, as part of the annual College Baseball Night of Champions.
