STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State won its third-straight game Tuesday with a 6-1 triumph over Oklahoma Wesleyan at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
Jared Womack and Gabe Weidenaar both homered for the Cowboys, who improved to 19-6 on the season, including a 16-3 mark on their home field.
Andrew Heck picked up his first win in an OSU uniform as the senior right-hander worked five scoreless innings, striking out three and allowing just two hits.
The Cowboys got the scoring started early when, following a pair of walks to Dane Phillips and Zach Johnson in the bottom of the first inning, Womack delivered an RBI single to make the score 1-0. OSU added a second run when Johnson scored on a passed ball.
OSU doubled its lead in the third, and once again it was Womack coming up with the big hit as he delivered a two-run home run over the right field wall. The blast was the junior's first round tripper of the season.
The Cowboys added a run in the fourth on Weidenaar's first-career homer, a solo shot to right field, and tallied their final run in the fifth on an RBI single by Johnson.
Womack finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while Weidenaar also had two hits and an RBI.
OWU (20-14) plated its lone run in the seventh off OSU reliever Blake Barnes. Following a hit by pitch and a double, Jose Ruiz brought home Mickey Armstrong with a groundout to provide the final 6-1 margin.
The Cowboys return to Big 12 Conference action Friday when they take on Nebraska in Lincoln. First pitch in the opener is 6:35 p.m.
