Peter Uihlein Makes Cut At Transitions Championship

PALM HARBOR, Fla. - Oklahoma State's Peter Uihlein fired a 69 on Friday to make the cut at the PGA Tour's Transitions Championship at Innisbrook Resort.
The Cowboy junior followed up his opening round 70 with the 2-under score during his second round. Uihlein finished among a group of 10 players tied for 39th place at 3-under 139 heading into the weekend.
"My game has been pretty solid. I feel like I have driven it well," Uihlein said. "I haven't been as sharp as I would like with my irons, but I am excited to play on the weekend and have some fun."
The reigning 2010 U.S. Amateur champion began his day with four-straight pars before making the first of his two eagles on the outward nine. At the par-5 fifth hole, Uihlein holed out his third shot, a 40-yard bunker shot to move to 2-under par for the round.
Two holes later, he jarred a pitching wedge from 127 yards out for an eagle 2 at the par-4 seventh.
After another run that consisted of five consecutive pars, Uihlein made his first bogey of the day at the 13th. Four more pars followed before a closing bogey at the 18th hole wrapped up his day.
Uihlein will begin his third round tomorrow morning at 10:08 a.m. (EST) and will be grouped with Will Claxton at the par-71, 7,340-yard layout.
