Mach Named NCBWA District VI Player Of The Year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. Â– Oklahoma State's Tyler Mach continues to collect awards as Friday he was named the 2007 District VI Player of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Mach, a senior second baseman for the Cowboys, is hitting .401 with 16 home runs and leads the Big 12 Conference with 81 RBIs and 99 hits. A fourth-round draft pick by the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday, Mach has already earned first-team All-Big 12 honors for the second-straight year and third-team All-American accolades by Louisville Slugger. He was also a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award and one of the final 30 players considered for the Brooks Wallace Award.

Mach is one of nine District Players of the Year honored by the NCBWA in '07. District VI includes players from teams in Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
