Cowboys Complete Sweep Of Texas Tech With Run-Rule Win

Oklahoma State earned its second consecutive Big 12 Conference series sweep with a 10-0 run-rule win over Texas Tech in seven innings Sunday at Dan Law Field.
The 15th-ranked Cowboys collected 13 hits in the win, including three home runs, as they improved to 37-13 overall and 16-8 in Big 12 play. With the loss, Texas Tech dropped to 26-24 overall and 7-16 in the league.
Freshman pitcher Andrew Oliver made his first appearance since April 15 against
OSU jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning as Keanon Simon doubled with one out, and Tyler Mach followed with a home run to left field to make the score 2-0. The homer was Mach's third of the series and 14th of the season.
The Cowboys added to their lead via the long ball in the third, and again it was a two-run shot. This one came off the bat of Corey Brown, who sent his team-leading 19th homer of the year over the bullpen in right field.
OSU's scoring trend continued in the fourth as Ryan Flavell hit the Cowboys' third two-run home run of the game to give them a 6-0 advantage.
Three runs in the fifth added to the lead. Donnie Webb brought home the first run with an RBI groundout, and Flavell and Simon each added RBI singles.
The final run came in the sixth as Rebel Ridling doubled and was later brought home on a double from Jordy Mercer.
Flavell paced the Cowboys with a 3-for-4, three-RBI day, while Simon, Ridling and Mercer each collected two hits apiece.
Ty Wright also extended his hitting streak to 27 games with a single in the seventh, adding to the second-longest streak in OSU history.
