Cowboy Golf Finishes Eighth At Morris Williams Intercollegiate

Oklahoma State's men's golf team carded a 293 team total on Tuesday during the final round of the Morris Williams Intercollegiate to finish in eighth place.
The Cowboys, who entered the day alone in eighth place after posting a 7-over 293 on Monday, finished with a 36-hole score of 588, 12-over, and one shot behind New Mexico for seventh place. UNLV claimed a six-shot victory after finishing with an 8-under 568 total.
The tournament was scheduled for 54 holes at the par-72, 6,906-yard Austin Country Club before inclement weather washed out yesterday's second round, shortening the tournament to 36 holes.
Three players finished tied atop the individual leaderboard as Tulsa's Ryan Henry, New Mexico's Steve Saunders and Texas A&M's Austin Schauer all finished at 139.
Sophomore Trent Leon paced the Cowboys after carding a 2-over 74 on the day to earn a tie for 23rd place with a 146 total.
After posting matching 75s on Monday, sophomore Jonathan Moore and senior Tyler Leon tied for the squad's low round of the day with even-par 72s. The duo finished tied for 33rd place at 147, while true freshman Chris Ward followed up his first-round 74 with a 75 to come in tied for 42nd place at 149.
Senior Ryan Posey opened with a 74 before his closing round of 77 put him in a tie for 55th in a group of players that included redshirt freshman Trent Whitekiller. Competing individually, Whitekiller carded rounds of 74 and 77 as well.
The Cowboys will be back in action on April 9 when they take part in the U.S. Collegiate Championship in Alpharetta, Ga.
