Cowboy Golf Finishes Sixth At Puerto Rico Classic

The Cowboys entered the day tied for eighth place with Florida before turning in the day's second-best score, trailing only Clemson's 284. Georgia claimed the team title by posting an 850 team score to edge the Tigers and Stanford by one shot.
Sophomore Jonathan Moore collected his second consecutive top-five finish, tying for third place at 210. The Vancouver, Wash. native began the day tied for 10th place, but moved up the leaderboard after a 2-under 70 got him to his 6-under total and one shot behind Georgia Tech's Roberto Castro and Stanford's Joseph Bramlett for the top spot in the individual race.
Senior Tyler Leon bounced back from his 78 on Monday with a 2-under 70 to move from a tie for 51st into a tie for 27th at 218. Among those at 218 was Leon's younger brother, Trent, who posted a 75 to arrive at his 2-over total.
Freshman Chris Ward posted a 74 to finish tied for 36th at 220, while senior Ryan Posey tied for 67th after a final round of 71 gave him a 54-hole score of 227.
The Cowboys will be back in action on March 9 when they begin play at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas.
