Pablo Martin Makes Cut At Mayakoba Golf Classic

Oklahoma State's Pablo Martin fired a 1-under 69 on Friday at El Camaleon Golf Club to make the cut at the PGA Tour's Mayakoba Golf Classic.

After an opening round of 70, Martin was 3-over after four holes during his second round, but reeled off four birdies over a five-hole stretch beginning with No. 8 to get in under par. The Malaga, Spain native, who is tied for 59th place, will play on the weekend after his 1-under total of 139 came in one shot above the even-par cut line.

Martin, the 2006 national collegiate player of the year, is playing on a sponsor's exemption in the event, which is the first-ever in Mexico for the PGA Tour.

The Cowboy junior will begin his third round tomorrow at 9:50 a.m. and will be paired with Jose Manuel Lara and Mark Calcavecchia.

Martin's teammates will resume their spring schedule on Sunday when they begin play at the Puerto Rico Classic at the Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort.
