Four Cowboys Named To Citrus All-Tournament Team

Matt Gardner and Oliver Odle earned the honor for their respective performances on the mound, while Tyler Mach and Matt Mangini joined them on the team.
Gardner, a junior right hander, helped the Cowboys win their 2007 season opener against Lamar as he allowed just one run on four hits in five innings of work. He also recorded four strikeouts in the win.
Odle tossed seven shutout innings and recorded a career high with 10 strikeouts in a 7-0 win over McNeese State. The senior right hander doubled his previous career high in strikeouts and allowed just four hits and no walks.
Mach and Mangini carried the Cowboys offensively at the tournament. Mach led the way with a .538 batting average as he collected seven hits in 13 at bats, including three doubles and a home run. The senior also scored three runs, collected four RBIs and played error-free ball in his first-career action at second base.
Mangini, a junior third baseman, made his debut for the Cowboys memorable as he went 7-for-14 at the plate with a pair of doubles and two RBIs. He also scored three runs.
OSU returns to action Friday at the FAU Beach Ball Bash in Boca Raton, Fla. The Cowboys open the tourney against La Salle at 3:30 p.m.
