Cowboys Picked To Finish Second In Big 12 Baseball Race

Coach Frank Anderson's Cowboys received 70 points from the conference's coaches, including a pair of first-place votes. Each coach ranked the conference's teams 1-9 and was not allowed to vote for their own team.
OSU is coming off a second-place finish in the Big 12 standings in 2006, which marks their highest-ever finish in the league. The Cowboys were 18-9 in league play last season.
Texas, which finished atop the standings in 2006, was the choice to repeat as champions. The Longhorns were 19-7 in league play a year ago and received seven of the 10 first-place votes by the league coaches.
OSU opens the season Friday when it hosts Hofstra at 3 p.m. at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
