2006: Lopez sat out the season as a redshirt ... played for the Bend Elks in the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League over the summer ... hit .259 with five RBIs in 20 games for the Elks.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-year letterman at shortstop for Palm Desert High School ... hit .375 as a senior and was named All-Desert Valley League ... also recruited by Long Beach State and UNLV.

PERSONAL: An education major ... son of Jim and Robin Lopez ... born Nov. 6, 1986 ... has one brother, Chris ... favorite musician is Jack Johnson ... favorite athlete is Chone Figgins ... chose Oklahoma State because of the great coaching staff and college atmosphere.
