What is your favorite thing about OSU baseball?
Just the tradition. There are good programs here year-in and year-out that have a shot at Omaha.
You spent a year playing baseball about 70 miles south of here. Did you ever think you'd go from being a Sooner to a Cowboy?
When I transferred here, yeah. (laughs) I didn't know a lot about the rivalry. I mean, I knew about it, but I'm from Texas, so it wasn't as big of a deal to me.
You had Tommy John surgery last year. What was the experience like?
It's been a big deal to me. I've put a lot of hard work into it. It was about a 12-month rehab, and I went out there and did all of it like I was supposed to so I could get back out on the field.
Do you have any superstitions?
None.
None at all? Not even stepping over the foul line?
Well, yeah, I do that one.
What CD are you listening to the most right now?
Probably Alice In Chains. It's an old CD.
If your apartment was on fire, what would be the one possession you would grab and why?
If my glove was at the apartment, then probably my glove because I need it.
What is your favorite thing about the game of baseball?
Just how you go out there and you may not be the best team — or you are the best team — but every day it's different. You can upset anybody or they can upset you.
If you could have dinner with any three people dead or alive, who would they be and what would be the meal?
It would be a steak dinner with Babe Ruth, Sandy Koufax and Bob Gibson.
If you could be any super hero, who would you be and why?
I'll go with Superman because he can do it all. He's fast, quick, strong... he can do it all.
Are there any TV shows you cannot miss?
No, I don't watch TV ever. I just listen to music and hang out.
Not even SportsCenter?
Well, other than ESPN. I like SportsCenter, but not TV shows.
Of all your teammates and all your coaches, who would have the best chance of winning on Survivor?
I'm going to go with Keanon Simon because he's tough as nails.
Let's change it up. I'm sure there's been some singing in the clubhouse. Who would have the best chance of winning on American Idol?
Probably me. I don't have the best voice, but I'll sing to anything and to anyone. I love singing.
What is the best gift you've ever received?
Just waking up healthy every day.
Who's the best baseball player of all-time and why?
The Mick — Mickey Mantle. He could run, hit — switch hit —and he played for the Yankees.
