Cowboy Golf Grabs Lead At Hall Of Fame Invitational
March 18, 2006 | Cowboy Golf
The Cowboys' total was the best round of the day and helped them erase first-round leader Texas' one-shot advantage. OSU's 10-over 586 total is seven shots clear of the Longhorns and East Tennessee State, which are tied for second at 593.
Redshirt freshman Jonathan Moore moved from a tie for 13th into a tie for second after posting a 2-under 70 on the day to stand at even-par 144 for the event. The Vancouver, Wash., native was one of just three players to break par on the day and is one of only three players to enter tomorrow's final round at even par or better.
Oklahoma's Anthony Kim began to pull away from the pack with a 69 on Saturday and his 8-under 136 total is eight shots clear of the field.
Sophomore Pablo Martin stands in a tie for fourth with a 145 total after carding a 73, while true freshman Trent Leon maintained his tie for the seventh spot after a 2-over 74 gave him a 36-hole total of 147.
Competing as an individual, senior Chris Clarke dipped five spots into a tie for 18th at 150 with a 76 during his second round.
Junior Tyler Leon moved into the top 20 and is also tied for 18th after posting his second consecutive 75 to get to his 150 total, while senior Zack Robinson will enter the final day of competition in 86th place at 162 after recording an 83.
OSU will return to the course tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. and will be paired with Texas and ETSU at the par-72, 7,422-yard layout.
