The Cowboys are 2-1 on the season after opening the season at the Jaguar Invitational in Mobile, Ala. two weeks ago. After missing its first five home games of 2006 due to inclement weather, OSU is set to host Western Illinois in a three-game series beginning Friday at 4 p.m. OSU is 54-14 all-time in home openers. In 25 seasons at Reynolds Stadium, the Cowboys are 646-131 (.831) and have never lost more than two consecutive games on their home field.

The Leathernecks are 2-3 in 2006. WIU's two wins came against Alabama State, while the three losses were to Oklahoma in Norman. OSU is 13-1 all-time against WIU, with the Cowboys winning 13-5 in Stillwater a year ago.
Last Meeting - March 16, 2005
Adam Carr led the Cowboys to a 13-5 win over WIU with a 4-for-5 performance at the plate that included two triples, two home runs and seven RBIs. Rick Rivas earned a save with three innings of relief on the mound.

About Western Illinois
The Leathernecks are looking for their first winning season since 1989 and are 2-3 in 2006 after finishing 24-34 last season. Coach Stan Hyman's club was picked to finish second to Oral Roberts in the Mid-Continent Conference race. OSU is one of four Big 12 Conference foes on WIU's schedule this season as the Leathernecks have already faced OU and also have three-game series against Kansas and Nebraska. A year ago, Western Illinois was 0-9 against the Big 12 Conference.
